This is the week from HELL! *whew!*

I don't know WHO scheduled all the stuff on my plate this week but when I see that person, THEY ARE SOOOOO FIRED!

Okay...I got that out of my system. Now on to what's been up lately...

1. I'm preparing for a BIG baby shower coming this Sunday. High profile mother to be...75-100 guests...LOTS of activities for the guests to participate in including an auction for charity.

2. Bridal Show on Sunday. Yes...I decided to exhibit at the last minute because of a smokin opportunity to pre-launch some new products and services. Come by our booth to take a look! :)

3. Working on re-branding and upgrading our website and this blog. *Waving back at Maddie over at Better In Pink...Hey Maddie!!*

4. And last but certainly not least, the hubby and I are putting the finishing touches to our backyard landscape redesign. (It's HOT here in Phoenix so it's motivated us to finally get the lead out and get it done!)

So you see? Blogging is just a bit difficult to get to right now. After the weekend is over, I'll be back to my daily posts.

A River Green: Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Cough, Cold and Flu OH MY!!

I have been sidelined with a nasty cold for the last few days. Prior to that I was in Vegas, hanging out with some of my family members from the east coast. We had a ball but I think I overdid things!

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow and we can get back to ALL THINGS WEDDINGS!

I just visited a new blog by the name of The JQ Lounge. What a GREAT blog! Julie is funny, witty and definitely an "around the way" girl! (For those of you that don't know, that's a GOOD thing!)

I found it via my friend Liene's blog Blue Orchid Designs. (Thanks Liene!)

The newest post is about a woman and her husband. They went to a party...he played a game...she's peeved!...and wants to know how to "get over it".

My advice? I'd give my husband a swift and sure "tune up", diva style!!!

Uh-oh...I’ve Been Tagged!

Over the weekend, Randi from Always Fabulous Events in Philadelphia, PA “blog” tagged me. That means I have to reveal some weird things about myself to you. I thought to myself, "I'm pretty boring...there's nothing weird about me." So I decided to do some soul searching and interrogating of the hubby to help me out with this one. What was the verdict? I definitely see myself differently than others do...I barely came up with anything to give you guys...but here goes!

First, the rules are:

Ok, here are 7 facts about me:

1. When I was in kindergarten, I was the tallest student in my class. My brother? 6’3”...my mom was 5’7” and my dad was 6’1” tall. You would never know it by looking at my 5’4” frame now!

2. I love, Love, LOVE to cook! My husband says being married to me is like having your own restaurant. On Saturday mornings I watch my favorite Food Network cooks...Paula, Giada, Emeril, Rachel and my new favorite, Ingrid Hoffman of “Simply Delisioso”! She is just too perky for words!

3. All through school I was on track to go to medical school to be a doctor. In my senior year of high school, I took an accounting class...hardly EVER went (just did my homework and was a natural at numbers) and ended up with an A+ in the class. I’ve been an accountant ever since. (25 yrs!) Being a party planner is my new career and it helps me unleash the “creative creature” in me!

4. I’m a Starbucks fan (I hate the term addicted and reject it wholeheartedly) but have just discovered the wonderful world of tea. The health benefits along with the varieties of tea offered today would curb most caffeine addicts. (Oh snap! There’s that word again! I’m not addicted...really I’m not!)

5. My 5th and 6th grade Sunday school class thinks that I am the coolest teacher ever! Not some drab, monotone, task-master like I had when I went to Sunday school ages ago!

6. I collect jigsaw puzzles. Love them! I haven’t had a lot of time lately to put any of them together because I’m always so busy with my business...but I have a very nice collection of them for when I retire a million years from now! LOL…

7. And lastly...I know the names of all of Santa’s reindeer. (No...I didn’t look them up on Google either!) They are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen! Oh and don’t forget Rudolph!!

I am a HUGE Phoenix Suns Fan!

I was talking to a few colleagues of mine recently (2 girls and 3 guys) and the conversation turned to the San Diego Chargers practicing at the Cardinals practice facility here in Arizona because of the fires in California. One of the ladies said that it must be pretty weird practicing in the enemy's territory. There was some back and forth about the pros and cons and then one of the guys spoke up and said, "You ladies don't know anything about the football, anyway..." Don't let anyone ever tell you that I'm too much of a girlie girl to understand or appreciate professional sports. It just isn’t true!

The NBA season is about to start and I am SUPER excited for the new Phoenix Suns! I'm sooooooo glad that my favorite SUN, Shawn Marion is still on the roster...that man is dangerous! And it's going to be an interesting year with the addition of Grant Hill…A player who is passionate about basketball and has endured many years of injuries in order to get to this point in his career. There's no telling what he will push himself to this year so I look forward to some great basketball from him this year.

And AMARE?? Did you hear about his return the other day? EXPLOSIVE!!! Tim Duncan better watch his back this year!

Now back to this "girls don't know nothin bout sports" mess...When I was dating my husband, we decided that for our third date, I would cook for him, at his house. It was a Sunday (a holiday during football season!) and it was the first time I had been to his house. He wanted steak for dinner and I brought along a small dish of shrimp scampi to go with.

He discovered that day that I was a sports fan and that my favorite team (Pittsburgh Steelers) was playing HIS favorite team (Oakland Raiders). We had fun with our teams old rivalry (it dates back YEARS!) Dinner was delish...he was able to watch the game while spending time with his future wife! Needless to say, it was an interesting third date! I don't remember who won the game that day, but I know for sure that I won his heart!

Guys? A woman who LOVES to watch sports? PRICELESS!
