Get Married in Times Square

New York City is COLD today!  But it warms my heart to hear about all the excitement in Times Square today. The wonderful team at Get Married is making one couple all warm and toasty!

Katie and Torsten's Wedding Featured on SWS!

Last May I posted about my assistant Katie and her handsome hubby Torsten tying the knot in Salt Lake City. Her wedding was FABULOUS!

They were married at the Grand America Hotel in the beautiful courtyard; escorted across the street by a bagpiper to the Little America Hotel for a 7 course meal and then ended the evening with a wonderful video that captured images from their engagement shoot taken months earlier to the first dance! Well...the ladies over at Southern Wedding Style think that their wedding was fabulous too. They posted about Katie and Torsten as one of their real wedding features recently and I was able to relive the wedding all over again!

This wedding was truly an eye opener!!

Katie and Torsten Get Married!

Hi there!

Just getting back into town from my assistant's wedding weekend in Salt Lake City! The weather was perfect (even though the wind was a bit uncooperative), the bagpiper leading the wedding party and guests through the streets to the reception and the 7 course meal was FABULOUS.

Katie was a super glamorous bride! Here is a video from her bridal shoot a few days before the wedding:

I can't wait to post the professional pictures! As soon as the super talented Kate Benson publishes her awesome photos, I'll share them with you! Torsten was one of the most handsome grooms I've ever seen! Isn't he darling?

In the meantime, the videographer they hired, Davey from Pointe Digital Videography and Photography, created an incredible video that they showed at the reception. He condensed some of the footage down to a 4 minute video that he has posted on his blog:

Engaged to Love!

Some of you may know my assistant Katie...the rest of you? Just wait til you meet her! She is such a help to me and to all our brides! Her sense of style and "can-do" attitude is what made me hire her more than two years ago when I discovered that some weddings couldn't be done alone!

Well...now its Katie's turn to get married and I couldn't be more delighted! Her fiance Torsten is such a great guy! The two of them are so in love and have a relationship that is rooted in that love!

(No...I'm not planning the wedding for her...she thinks I work too much as it is. She wants me to be a guest for once!)

Katie and Torsten will be married in Torsten's home town of Salt Lake City, Utah in May and they've hired a fabulous and totally dynamite photographer by the name of Kate Benson. I can feel this woman's energy popping off the pages of her website and her blog!

Kate's "About" page on her website gives her readers a great view into her high energy personality. She is a risk taker and we all know risk takers are usually a ton of fun to be around! Emily Sutherloan, a friend and collegue of Kate's summed it up this way, "Kate loves to be shocked, surprised and amazed, and finds a way to convey this fresh perspective in her art, often seeing a photograph where others may not. Kate has been known to go to extreme lengths to get "the shot", even wading into thick, muddy, mosquito infested to snap a photo..."

Sonja and Ely - March 14, 2008

I have been working with this couple for more than a year now and we are in the home stretch. We're finalizing details and are very excited about the BIG DAY!

I shared their inspiration board with you awhile back and I'm happy to say we are EXCITED about how all the details will come together. I'll be sure to post pics from the wedding later in the year.



These shots were taken by their photographer, Justine from Justine Miller Photography. Justine has a wonderful eye and I look forward to working more with her in the future.

Mint Green and Coral

Our first wedding of 2008 is one we've been working on for almost a year! We're helping Sonja and Ely wrap things up in the next few weeks and I wanted to share with you the inspiration board we created for them.
