Did you know that 53% of couples getting married today use the internet to keep their guests informed about their upcoming wedding? It's a GREAT way to share the details of how your wedding planning as progressed since you said "I Do!"
Many couples choose to share in this way because its easy and fun to do! It also gives those guests that live outside of the host city, a chance to participate...albeit vicariously...in all the fun, even though they are miles away. Its also a great way to share travel information for those out of town guests that need extra time to plan.
Wedding websites can be as simple or as elaborate as you'd like. Here are some of the ones we seen out there:
MyWedding
WeddingWire
Wedding Window
MyEvent
There is also a site out there called WeddingWebsites.com that will compare wedding website providers so you can pick the one that's right for YOU!

Inspiration Comes From Anywhere and Everywhere!
I've been working on a few inspiration boards for a few of my clients and wanted to share in the creation of one of them with you.
Jessica is getting married in October of 2009. She is originally from the east coast and her fiance is from California. They've asked me to infuse the flavor of both coasts into their wedding along with their love of the outdoors. Jessica has given me the following photograph as my starting point for their wedding:
I see pink, gold, yellow and touches of light brown...
What do you see?

People I Admire: Liene at Blue Orchid Designs

{Photo of Liene taken by Karey Michelle Photography}
Liene (pronounced Lynn), is SUCH a smart girl! She is leaps and bounds above many of us wedding planners in the "business savvy" department...and she doesn't mind sharing the wealth!
Today she posted a very informative article on her VERY popular Blue Orchid Designs Blog about Kickbacks, Commissions and Dirty Wedding Secrets.
For the record? Sacred Moment Weddings does NOT accept kickbacks, commissions or any other payments from vendors that we recommend to our clients. We don't ask for them nor do we accept them when offered. We would much rather that our clients benefit from the best those vendors have to offer at the BEST price.
Please take a moment and educate yourself about this subject. I couldn't have said it any better!
Thanks Liene!!

Get With The Program!

{Photo courtesy of Ceci NY via Wedding Bee}
Providing your guests with a program at your ceremony is a great way to personalize your wedding. It also provides a great opportunity to share you and your fiances cultures, family traditions or any other special things about you as a couple.
Perhaps you are having your ceremony at the church where you were christened or baptised as a child? Or maybe it's the same church where your parents took their vows.
If you are getting married in a location that has rich history attached to it, tell your guests about it in your program.
If you and your fiance are combining religious rituals into your ceremony, providing the meaning behind each of them in your program will allow your guests to share in the spiritual aspects of your ceremony.
Check out these wonderful suggestions on Wedding Bee for programs that cover EVERY budget range!
Your program doesn't have to be elaborate but make it special! By coordinating it with the other colors and elements of your wedding, it will not only stand out but it will let your guests know how much you appreciate their participation in your special day!

Contest: Got Cake?

We received our Martha Stewart Wedding Cakes book a few weeks ago! I just got around to looking through it the other day. (Being sick leaves me with TOO much time on my hands!)
Thing is? My hubby bought one for me while he was out shopping one day. (Isn't he sweet? I think it was his way of buttering me up to get me to bake that red velvet cake he's been wanting...hmmmm)
Anyway...since I have two...I thought I'd give one away to one of my readers! (Brides, grooms, wedding planners, all are welcome!)
In honor of Spring, write me and tell me about your favorite Spring Wedding ideas. Tell me what springtime elements you would choose for your idea including colors, flowers, decor and entertainment.
Spring flowers? Pastel colors? Perhaps incorporating a religious holiday like Easter or Passover into a wedding. Or are your ideas bold and brazen like having a St. Patrick's Day theme? Leave us a post in the comments section below to enter.
Claudia, Katie and I will choose our favorite post from all the comments posted. We'll leave the contest open until midnight on Monday, March 3, 2008. We'll announce the winner on Tuesday, March 4th.
Good Luck!!
