Neat Contest For the Guys!

The wonderfully talented and witty ladies over at the Bright Gallery are sponsoring a contest for the guys! You know...those guys that you hope and pray are about to pop the questions but don't know how?

Take a peek here and you'll learn all about it! If you are savvy with email, you could send your guy a secret link to the website so HE can take a look at the contest for himself. Go on...you've got nothing to lose and perhaps a diamond and a really great proposal to gain!! Not to mention a wonderfully thoughtful husband to be!

Uh-oh...I’ve Been Tagged!

Over the weekend, Randi from Always Fabulous Events in Philadelphia, PA “blog” tagged me. That means I have to reveal some weird things about myself to you. I thought to myself, "I'm pretty boring...there's nothing weird about me." So I decided to do some soul searching and interrogating of the hubby to help me out with this one. What was the verdict? I definitely see myself differently than others do...I barely came up with anything to give you guys...but here goes!

First, the rules are:

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Ok, here are 7 facts about me:

1. When I was in kindergarten, I was the tallest student in my class. My brother? 6’3”...my mom was 5’7” and my dad was 6’1” tall. You would never know it by looking at my 5’4” frame now!

2. I love, Love, LOVE to cook! My husband says being married to me is like having your own restaurant. On Saturday mornings I watch my favorite Food Network cooks...Paula, Giada, Emeril, Rachel and my new favorite, Ingrid Hoffman of “Simply Delisioso”! She is just too perky for words!

3. All through school I was on track to go to medical school to be a doctor. In my senior year of high school, I took an accounting class...hardly EVER went (just did my homework and was a natural at numbers) and ended up with an A+ in the class. I’ve been an accountant ever since. (25 yrs!) Being a party planner is my new career and it helps me unleash the “creative creature” in me!

4. I’m a Starbucks fan (I hate the term addicted and reject it wholeheartedly) but have just discovered the wonderful world of tea. The health benefits along with the varieties of tea offered today would curb most caffeine addicts. (Oh snap! There’s that word again! I’m not addicted...really I’m not!)

5. My 5th and 6th grade Sunday school class thinks that I am the coolest teacher ever! Not some drab, monotone, task-master like I had when I went to Sunday school ages ago!

6. I collect jigsaw puzzles. Love them! I haven’t had a lot of time lately to put any of them together because I’m always so busy with my business...but I have a very nice collection of them for when I retire a million years from now! LOL…

7. And lastly...I know the names of all of Santa’s reindeer. (No...I didn’t look them up on Google either!) They are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen! Oh and don’t forget Rudolph!!

OK...I’m passing on the blog tag to:

1. Aleasha Shelton
2. Bright Girls
3. Christine Clark
4. Bree Gianassi
5. Kelly McWilliams

I could only find 5 people to tag...everyone else I blog-stalk has been tagged recently :(

I'm Back!

I've been getting ready for Christmas and finishing up the last two events I had for the year...but I'm back!

Not really able to log on to the internet much in the last few weeks! Boy was I going through withdrawals!!! I had my black berry but you know...its just not the same as having a full screen!

Anyhoo...check back a bit later for some juicy content and some cool stuff for the holidays! Later Skater!

A Place For You and Your Bridesmaids to Twirl...

Remember as a little girl, dressing up in mommy's gowns or dresses and spinning around to make the skirt of the dress "twirl"? Well, you can have that feeling again...really!!

I've discovered (a little late it seems) a WONDERFUL place for you and your crew to get some really special VIP treatment! No...it's not the latest couture bridal shop or the hot new spa in town. It's called TWIRL and it's a swank boutique that caters specifically to the bridesmaids in your wedding party. The shop is darling and there are no boring bridesmaid dresses here! I met the owners, Keri and Jenni, and instantly fell in love. The girls and their staff will treat you like royalty even before you walk in the door. (Make an appointment to go see them and you'll understand what I mean!)

Their price point starts at $160 and the dresses are from some of the most popular designers out today. They also have gifts and accessories for every member of your bridal party. So hurry!! Make your appointment (highly recommended) and go visit them...and don't forget to "twirl"!

Ask the Expert: What to buy for the Girls?

Last week I showed you some awesome gifts for the guys in the wedding party. This week I thought I would show you what I've found for the girls.

Today I received a Christmas gift from a freind of mine who knows I am trying to curb my Starbucks habit. I LOVE Coffee but I am also a tea drinker. I'm not crazy about the tea at Starbucks...I like to make my own but I'm always moaning that I don't have time. (wedding planners are always on the go!)

So she sent me a Teavana Giftset with everything I need to make my own right here at the office!! It has everything I need to make a perfect cup of tea in my favorite flavors. I love it and maybe your bridesmaids will too!

More gifts later...I'm going to make myself some tea and see what other cool stuff I can find...

Ciao!

My Husband the Party Planner

My husband did the most WONDERFUL thing today!! Just today we were talking about how we don't see our friends on a regular basis and how hard it is to get everyone together at one time. I told him that instead of always planning a party at our home...which we do several times a year...I prefer a more intimate setting of meeting one or two couples at a nice restaurant. That way there's no mad dash to get ready just before the guests arrive and then there's no clean up afterwards.

Last night he tells me that a friend of his from work wanted to meet to talk about possibly coordinating his and his fiance's wedding. So...we were going to meet them for an early dinner. I paused because he has never really tried to setup an "initial consult" for me....he rarely even talks much about my wedding planning!

Anyway, we get to the restaurant and in the parking lot on their way to the same restaurant are the Smiths! (Steve Smith was the host at our wedding and did an AWESOME job!)

And what a surprise! About 5 minutes later here come the Clinton's! (Bondy Clinton photographed each and every guest at our wedding so that we could put together a REAL guestbook of pictures instead of one of those awful signature books!)

Two of our favorite couples in the whole wide world! The guys, with my husband as the ring leader, planned a wonderful night out for us girls and it was a wonderful surprise!

I guess my party planning savvy is starting to rub off my hubby!! :)
